To make a unique cross-stitch pendant necklace, you will need everything that comes in the DIY Necklace Kit by QuiddityGifts.
You’ll also need:
- coloured pencils/pens
- a marker
- a glue gun or some superglue
- a pair of scissors
Use your imagination to come up with a pretty pattern and colour it onto the template:
When you’re ready to start, cut a length of cotton and thread your needle (carefully use the needle threader if you find this tricky) and get stitching! Standard cross-stitch and tapestry long-stitch both look great. Why not mix them up for a funky pattern that’s totally one-of-a-kind?
Don’t worry if your stitches get messy at the back…you can cover them up when you’re done by placing the pendant on the square of felt provided in the pack. Draw around it with a pen or marker and carefully cut out the shape to cover up the back of your pendant. Using a glue gun or some super flue, outline the back of the pendant with a thin line of glue and stick the felt down. Once the glue has dried, trim around the edges with a pair of sharp scissors and use the needle to poke a hole in the top. Put the silver-plated jump ring back on and thread it onto the ribbon necklace.
